Frank Burney has focused his practice on governmental affairs, international business, public employee benefit plans, land planning, financial institutions, real estate, and general corporate and transactional matters. His clients include Fortune 500 corporations, homeowners associations, not-for-profit organizations, real estate investors and pension funds. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of legal issues, both in the U.S. and Mexico.
Mr. Burney is active in civic, charitable and legal activities. He has been the Chair or President of the Zoning Commission for the City of San Antonio, the Rotary Club of San Antonio, the San Antonio Bar Foundation, the Southwest School of Art, the Texas Lyceum, Jalisco-Texas Bilateral Commission, and the Nature Conservancy Advisory Board. He has been or is currently an officer or trustee of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the Free Trade Alliance, Texas Association of Bank Counsel and the Red Cross. He is past president of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, where he was selected as its Outstanding Young Lawyer in 1988, and has been named "Best SA Lawyers 2017" by S.A. Scene Magazine.
He is also active in politics, serving as an advisor to elected officials and for public initiatives and bond referendums. He is a registered lobbyist with the City of San Antonio.
